FAQs
How long will it take?
Your life story wasn’t written overnight. It deserves to be told with care, creativity, and attention to detail…which takes a little time. All embroidery is custom hand crafted and takes close to 8 weeks based on our current production queue.
*Please note that Haiti can have unpredictable weather, and we may experience additional delays if and when Mother Nature strikes.
Can you embroider on something other than jeans?
Yes! You can embroider on jackets, pants, shirts… whatever you choose. However, items other than jeans must be approved (via email, concierge@threadedtales.com) to make sure the fabric is able to hold the embroidery.
What about shipping?
You send your article of clothing to Threaded Tales, 251 West 19th Street, Suite 9B, New York, NY, 10011. We strongly recommend FedEx or UPS so you can track them. If you do use USPS, please send with a tracking number. Once your item is finished, we will ship them back to you at no charge, along with a tracking number.
What is your return policy?
Threaded Tales jeans are custom crafted and take over six weeks of work — close to 100 hours of design and embroidery. Given the intensity of the work, and the one-of-a-kind, personal nature of the pieces we create, we are sure you’ll understand that we don’t accept exchanges or offer refunds. In the rare case that you find a quality issue with your purchase — and we haven’t had one yet! — we’ll accept your jeans for repair provided we think we can rectify the problem.
How do I care for my jeans?
To help minimize any color loss to the embroidery, turn jeans inside out before placing them in the washer and leave them inside out until you remove them from the dryer. Set the water temperature on cold/cold. Hot water can damage the embroidery. When drying your jeans, set the dryer to delicate setting, less dry.
Can you ship outside of us?
We can ship outside of the US, however there is an additional charge for international shipping. Also, you will have to be responsible for customs clearance and any kind of duty or import fee accessed.
What is Haiti Projects?
Haiti Projects is a 501(C)(3) corporation with focused initiatives to empower women of rural Haiti toward self-sufficiency.
Haiti Projects provides access to jobs, education, health care, and other avenues for building a sustainable community. Located in the town of Fond des Blancs, they are the second largest employer in a region of Haiti where over 90,000 people live with no electricity or public services.
Do you pay fair-trade wages?
Threaded Tales pays 3x fair trade wages to the local artisans of Haiti Projects, and each piece of clothing embroidered provides an artisan with funds that contribute to the education of her child.
Can I get these rushed?
As stated above, all articles are custom crafted and unfortunately there are no rush orders.
